    you could try a strong solution of washing powder in very hot water(if clothes can stand it),I clean my dried up brushes like that.You leave them soaking all night and next day it has softened the paint so it will come off the brushes. Have also heard using hot vinegar for brushes too but havent tried it.

    talking of washing up powder,
    if you've got oil based paint on your hands and a weak white spirit which isnt getting the paint off your hands easily, get some washing up powder and rub it into your hands, this will loosen the paint and also make your hands nice and soft,

    give it a go!

    I use lemon juice and sugar mixed to a paste and then rubbed over hands and rinsed off.
