My boyfriend has 2 children to his ex-wife & 2 children to his ex-partner. We have done the calculator on the csa website but can only enter 3+ children & it assumes the children all have the same mother &, I guess, all live at the same address. Does it make a difference to the amount having 2 different mothers at 2 different addresses?
We know we’re paying them too much now (according to the calculator), the amount was mutually agreed already and we are happy to pay as per the law but we want it to be fair. We have all 4 every other weekend (fri night to Sunday evening) then have the 2 youngest every Tuesday after nursery until 7.30pm (food & fuel) then we pick up the 2nd eldest from school every weds & thurs until 6.30ish (food & fuel) so in effect we only have every Monday off and every other weekend off. We love having the kids of course and wouldn’t have it any other way but we want the money to be fair, especially when we can’t afford to go places & do stuff as much as the mothers can. They both work themselves which is great but so do we and do so much too for the kids.

Hi. It's three or more children, this is the maximum as your other half would struggle otherwise, it doesn't matter if the children don't all have the same mothers, just put the max number of children into the calculator (3) and divide the maintenance liability by 4 (might be best to miss out the number of nights that the older 2 stay with you and work this out later). There's no reduction for after school care, it's just overnights (and this is reduced by 1/7 if they spend between 52 and 103 nights a year with their father, 2/7 if they spend 194 to 155 nights, 3/7 if they spend 156 to 174 nights and 1/2 if they spend more than 175 nights), so this would only apply for 2 of the 4 children.
