Clixsense 2014 Second Thread

Welcome to my handy guide on using Clixsense.

I am happy to offer advice here, as are numerous other kind members, so please feel free to ask any questions, even if you don't want to trawl through the numerous pages on this thread.

Clixsense allows members to sign up referrals, although a referral link is not required. Many members of MSE have their Clixsense referral link listed on the relevant referrals board of MSE and referral links are not to be posted on this thread please as this is not allowed by MSE.

How to earn on Clixsense

Sign up using a confirmed e-mail address, sign in and you'll be able to access the following:

Views Ads - Standard members are guaranteed one advert per day, worth $0.01 cent. Additional adverts will appear worth $0.005, $0.001 and $0.002. Premium members also get at least 4 $0.01 adverts per Clixsense day. New adverts load throughout the day usually.

ClixOffers - Here you can start using Radio Loyalty, if you have the radio running for 30 minutes you will see a captcha, enter this (a series of letters and words) in order to receive 3 cents. This can sometimes take until the following day to credit.

There are surveys available on here too with daily surveys on offer for $1, 90c, 70c etc and other surveys from Samplicious and Toluna regularly available. A few times a week there are surveys worth $4 or $5 and these can take up to 60 days to credit. I have personally completed a few of these offers and they were of great help to my balance when they eventually credit, although some credited later than the date it stated.

Tasks - Crowdflower tasks are here, with a wide variety on offer including Fisher Investment task and casino tasks. Typically each task is different and comes with a list of instructions, although at times these can be a little difficult to understand. I personally have received numerous university surveys and other very interesting jobs, some paying in excess of $2 for just a few minutes work, via the Clixsense Tasks page. There is a $5 bonus for every $50 of tasks that you complete, this is added as soon as you hit the next increment. I've had around $180 of bonuses so far, as of July 2014 so these are definitely worthwhile.

ClixGrid - You get 30 chances on the grid, click a box and a new tab/window opens up, click the cat picture and wait 10 seconds to see if you're a winner. Wins include extra chances on the grid and prize money from 10 cents up to $10. Don't forget to lock the picture by selecting 'Lock Picture' before starting as having the photograph refresh every time can be rather annoying. Premium members get 60 Clixgrid clicks daily and their timer is just 5 seconds rather than 10. You have to click 20 adverts per day in order to count towards the checklist bonus.

Advertise - Here you can choose to advertise other websites, referral links etc. Those of us who have been premium members for more than six months may have credits available to advertise for free.

Affiliates - Affiliate earnings are dependant on whether you are a standard or premium member (more details on premium membership below). See the Clixsense website for more information as I would only be copying and pasting lots of text otherwise.

Forum - Here you can find other members talking about various aspects of Clixsense, tasks etc. You also need to click here once per day to complete the daily checklist, you can literally just click the word forum and click off again. You can't private message or click on peoples name to see a profile but you can like posts after you've posted 10 times and your first posts are moderated on the forum so may take some time to arrive.

Daily Checklist Bonus

If you complete these 5 things per day you will receive a 5% bonus on your earnings (PTC, Tasks, Offers etc - not including bonuses) if you are a standard member and 12% if you are a premium member.

View PTC Ads - 2 Per day
Clixgrid Game - Click 20 Clixgrid squares per day, run each one for 10 seconds (5 seconds if a premium member).
Complete Tasks & Complete Offers - Either complete 10 Crowdflower Tasks OR 2 offers (not including watching videos) OR complete 5 Crowdflower Tasks (found on the tasks page) AND complete 1 offer (not including watching videos).
Visit Forum - Just click on forum, browse if you like (although this is not compulsory).

There is now an additional 2 features, running the ClixAddOn extension on Google Chrome and Firefox for a minimum of 60 minutes per day and an 'Activity Bonus' for completing the checklist a minimum of 3 days previously. This awards an extra 1% for each of these 2 items for standard members and an extra 2% for premium members increasing your potential checklist bonus from 5% to 7% for standard members and from 12% to 16% for premium members.

Once you've completed the daily checklist (midnight reset their time is 5am our time) you will be told 'Congrats! You have met the minimum requirements for today's checklist'. It'll then tell you what your current bonus is due to be. I've now made over $230 from the checklist bonus and I'm only 1 month into my 2nd $17 yearly membership - so this is definitely worth it!

Cashout

Ahh yes, the important bit! Standard members can cashout with $8 and premium members with $6. Payouts arrive, via Paypal, minus a 3% fee that is deducted when you cashout, at around 8PM UK (2PM EST) time on Monday and Friday. You have to choose the amount to cashout manually. You will usually receive $0.01 before you get your actual cashout the first time you cashout.

Upgrade to Premium Membership

This costs $17 per year, which you can pay from your on site balance, Paypal or a bit of both, and lasts for 1 year. Premium membership entitles you to more Clixgrid daily clicks (and therefore more chances to win - my best yet is $0.50!) also the daily checklist bonus increases from 7% to a maximum of 16%. Further to this there is an increase in commissions for signups/direct referrals, so if you have lots of friends you've referred or are going to refer then premium membership is probably the right thing for you.

A standard member would make $0.50 on $10 while a premium member would make $1.20 on $10, this is a significant amount to earn and I personally have made over $170 from the checklist bonuses since I upgraded back in June, this has earned me over $100 more than I would've earned with a standard membership - this alone made the fee worth it for me, and I paid from my onsite earnings so it really only cost me time to upgrade rather than money.

ClixAddon Browser Extension for Google Chrome:

This is a browser addon, for Google Chrome and Firefox (I believe) and it is free to download.

This addon sits on the right hand side of Google Chrome and flashes to advise that there are potential earning opportunities available. Clicking on it shows balance, today's earnings, yesterday's earnings, total earnings, how many PTC ads, surveys and tasks are available and it also has links to the offers and forum pages. In addition to this there is an options button where you can tweak how often you would like pop up notifications to come up. There are even sounds that you can set to alert you when tasks are available (with any task with more than 25 being shown).

Internet Explorer will not receive this addon, ever, as Clixsense have confirmed.

Additional walls are Trialpay, Radium One, Peanut Labs, Matomy, Supersonic Ads, SuperRewards and Token Ads. I will have to check these out in depth a little more and provide more information in May sometime. There is also a history tab at the bottom of the offers section to allow you to check the status of pending offers etc.

TrialPay - Here you will mainly find trials and offers such as purchase a domain name with a spend of at least $7 to receive 2,000 Clixcents. Each Clixcent is worth 1 normal cent and some offers take time to credit. The offers are grouped into 'free apps' which pay you to download applications, 'most popular' which is self explanatory, 'surveys' which is also, 'free', which contains a mixture of free paid offers and free paid downloads of applications and programs and 'More' which allows you to filter by specific offers such as Shopping, Online Services and Wine & Chocolate. I personally have completed offers here, including using a listed discount code to purchase flowers. I received my payment successfully as advised.

RadiumOne - Here you will find a mixture of paid surveys, paid website registrations and special offers such as 250 ClixCents when you buy a photo T-shirt with 25% off. I find most offers here are either available on other offer walls or cashback websites and usually for more money or similar.

Peanut Labs - Here you will find surveys, usually 10-15 listed per day, sometimes more or less depending on your demographics, and it is worth taking the time to fill out their questions to allow yourself access to their surveys. Many people find that they are restricted to 3 completed surveys per 24 hour period. Most of the surveys are worth 50 - 67 cents and credit as soon as you have finished them. Disqualifications can be a little long winded at times and with so many surveys available it isn't unusual to find 5-10 surveys listed and only complete 1 or 2. There are also paid offers on this page with examples including paid website registration, paid competition entry and paid mobile app downloads. The buttons here are 'All', 'Free', and 'Mobile' which are pretty self explanatory. This is a good wall to visit daily because of the abundance of surveys usually on offer.

Matomy - Here you will find a variety of paid offers including paid website registrations, paid casino offers, paid application downloads and paid competitions. Usually the fees here are lower than on the likes of the TrialPay or RadiumOne walls and on occasion there are links to downloads that you would not want to complete, so exercise caution here, as with all offer walls.

SupersonicAds - Here you will find lots of paid mobile application downloads. The offers are usually broken down to those from the Apple Store and those from Google Play. Downloads are simple as you just click on the application you want to download, it should have your email address saved (if you have completed any offers before) and then it will send you an email. On your mobile phone or tablet (depending on the offer) you can just click the e-mail and it will open up the download direct on your app store saving time. Usually another confirmation email will be sent when you've received your reward, which usually happens within 5-10 minutes. There are also premium offers here, which tend to require you to spend money.

SuperRewards - Here you will find a mixture of paid trials, paid website registrations, paid downloads, surveys and free offers. There is also a 'video' button where you will usually find paid videos on a daily basis, each paying 1 cent for watching them, which is credited as soon as the video finished. I don't complete any offers on this wall and just watch the paid videos.

TokenAds - Here you will find a mixture of paid trials, videos to watch, paid downloads, shopping offers and more but these are mainly dependant on your location and being based in England means you may never see any 'Share' offers, any 'Premium' offers or any 'Shopping' offers. Some people may see up to 10 videos per day here, occasionally even more, usually worth 1 cent each, I however usually just see 1 or 2. I have completed paid offers here from time to time, mainly paid app downloads that I cannot see elsewhere and there are always paid promptly.

Revenue Universe - This is a new offer wall and seems to contact the usual sort of offers, plus a few that are not available elsewhere at present. Offer types include paid website registration, paid downloads, paid free trials and paid competition entries.

Remember not to complete offers on one wall and then on another, as this can lead to problems with crediting and also being banned from particular walls, such as Revenue Universe.

Many of the paid competitions will allow your details to be sold on to other companies and often they will be able to check if you provide a genuine telephone number, so a pay as you go sim card can be very useful for these purposes.

Almost all rewards are listed in Clixcents on offer walls and 1 Clixcent is equal to 1 cent. On occasion offers state a specific date that you will be paid by but it is not unusual for the dates to exceed these, and generally support on the offer walls while advise you to be patient.

Most walls have support buttons also, and Clixsense generally won't help with offer problems encountered on these offer walls.

If you complete an offer and are not credited try to submit a screenshot of your offer, or any confirmation email, to confirm that you did complete the offer successfully, when submitting any support tickets.

Useful insight and information from RachelBel:

First off, they describe 'trusted contributors' as being those with an accuracy of over 70%. So 'good' is much lower than you might think. Their default accuracy on any given task is set at 70% - that being the point where you get bumped off a task if you drop below. The client who is setting the task can change that default to a higher % if they want though.

The client can also select who to target their tasks at according to a very wide range of demographical info... not just accuracy, so don't panic if you're not seeing a task that seems like it 'should' be open to your accuracy level. They can aim it at certain ages, sex, whether you're married or not, have kids or not, education level, location, employed/part-time/full-time/unemployed... and even the reason you use CF, whether its to top up your income, sole income, or 'for fun'...
Those questions/demographics seem to have come from a skills test at some point which was based on personal info. I've never had to answer any questions to give that kind of info to CF so I presume, like me, a lot of you newer folk would be 'uncategorised' as far as demographics is concerned. I'm sure the questions will pop up for everyone at some point.
I'm guessing the majority of tasks don't need to be aimed at certain demos, but maybe it comes into play for some of the survey type ones.

When you raise a ticket - unless CF actually put that task up, (some of them, they do) they don't know anything at all about the task, they just pass it on to the client - and its the client's job to check test questions etc & improve the way the task is going, which they are able to do in real time. CF state on their website that the tickets are helpful to make the task run better and show the client what they're doing wrong... so don't worry if you're sending in a load of tickets across a wide range of tasks- those tickets are all being forwarded on for the attention of different people. (of course, if you're raising multiple tickets for the same task/type of task- like the casino ones, they ARE going to the same person, so maybe be aware of that?)

Test Questions: There's actually two ways that test questions are made.
The first way is that the 'correct' answer is provided by the client who built the task.
The second way is more complicated & might be used by the client to save time on their part - Test questions are built through 'the wisdom of the crowd, so to speak. So if, for example, four people, who have a high 'trusted' accuracy level opt for answer A, but one person opts for B... the test question becomes "Correct answer=A". They use a formula to ascertain confidence levels based on the aggragate of answers and the accuracy levels of the people involved. So essentially this means that a task can accumulate more test questions dotted throughout the task as it proceeds.
But its not infallible at all... because those 'trusted' contributors might become 'untrusted' over the course of the task by getting other test questions wrong, which adjusts their % in real time, and therefore adjusts the 'confidence level' of their answer in those test questions. So accuracy get adjusted automatically at the end of the task if you were marked wrong by what turned out to be inaccurate responders.
It's important to note, 'trusted' contributor on a task is not based on global accuracy, but only your performance on that task... so someone might do well on the quiz mode questions, are regarded 'trusted' and then only do a handful of the task questions, and never stay in the task long enough to be properly judged for their accuracy which might not be all that great overall - thats why its worth raising tickets to draw attention to tasks that might be using bad judgement as a benchmark. And some jobs on a task can be tricky and trip up the majority of accurate people too... like those rooftop ones where the pool has been drained & not obvious, or the googlemap view shows solar panels that aren't on the main pic.

Sorry for the long post... but thought some of you might find all that interesting. And it explains why some of the test questions can be so bafflingly wrong.

I haven't been 'sorted' into a Level category yet, no box for me around any of the levels, but I'm not worried... I'm pretty certain if 70% is 'trusted' then all of us who are in the 80-90% will be happily regarded as high accuracy. Just a hunch, maybe 70-80 is high, 80-90 is very high, and 90-100 will be near perfect??
I imagine they will be sorting the levels for those who are already on a higher banding first, since they have the majority of tasks open to them already, and get around to us uncategorised newbies last.

Edit: Oh, and it is totally possible that if you are on a 'lower' level (like us newbies) that a 'new' task appears when the work is almost finished on it. The client can set their tasks to be done by those who are on the higher levels/who have unlocked the task, but they can change their mind during the task and make it available to all... which they might do if the task is not getting finished quickly enough and they want to speed it up & are already happy that the bulk of the work has been done by high accuracy/trusted contributors on the higher levels. Apparently the downside of aiming a task at the more experienced/trusted contributors is that they have more options and might not be prioritising a clients task, particularly if its low pay. Whereas lower levels get the task done speedily due to lack of other options. (so i'm not going crazy... I"m always only seeing those moderation picture tasks when there's only 1 or 2 left on it... so i presume they get mostly done by people at higher levels, then opened to all to get them finished up)

Have been debating doing this for a while but I have never done a site that pays in dollars and would need to set up a paypal account and not sure how that works either?

Is it worth me doing without getting referrals as I can never persuade people to get free money. Fools :rotfl:

Great first post

Just adding my experiences and with being a newbie as well, may help someone out. Joined on the 13th March this year. Made $17 in 4 days an did the upgrade to premium member. Well worth imo. Cashed out $35.58 on the 24th and currently on $22.96 as of today. I don't have any referrals but regularly check for surveys, run radio loyalty and try and complete as many tasks as I can. So have made $75.54 in total in 2 weeks, 3 days. Approx £45.38 (not including fees). Well worth joining up is anyone is wondering

Yes it is worth doing and it is easy to set up a Paypal Account too.Just go to the Paypal website and sign up for one.
You can make a decent amount of money even without referrals.
