Try not to dwell on the 'false claims', it's largely propaganda designed to get Daily Mail readers frothing at the mouth. Benefit 'fraud' accounts for 0.7% of the Social Security budget, and that figure includes mistakes made by the DWP, so the real level of intentional benefit fraud is miniscule, despite the cases covered and inflated in the media might indicate. It's also a red herring. The government, through the DWP are using fraud as an excuse to reduce the cost of the social security system so that they can give tax cuts to the rich.

Please don't buy into the 'scrounger versus striver' rhetoric. The government has plans for the strivers now their divide and rule tactics have worked - suddenly, and in the not too distant future, those strivers will wake up one morning to discover that they are now scroungers. And don't think that pensioners are safe either, as from May onwards, partners of those over state pension age who are under 65 will now have to apply for Universal Credit instead of Pension Credit. And this in a country that could easily afford to pay the state pension at age 60.

I hope your mother is successful with her appeal, and take heart that 72% of cases that go to appeal are won, so you stand a good statistical chance of winning. That, if nothing else, should tell you how corrupt the system is, where you have someone using a computer program to supercede the expert medical opinion of specialists. That alone should tell you that there is something deeply wrong. Look up biopsychosocial model and read around and you'll become aware that it's about as accurate at determining fitness to work as graphology is to determining personality - it's pure snake oil.

Like I said scrap benefits; start again - this time with a proper safety net system and nothing more

Remember PiP is exactly what you said - you have to show how it impacts the individual life within those descriptors.

It has nothing to do with the individual medical conditions or diagnosis on their own.

    DLA and PiP are different.
