A friend has asked me to post as she is looking for advice on the best university in Scotland for her daughter who wants to study English.

Anyone any tips or advice I can pass on?

thanks :)

My sister read English at Paisley, which I'm aware is not one of the most prestigious universities.

However, she thoroughly enjoyed her time there and finished with a 2:1. In fact, she liked Scotland so much that she still lives there......which gives me an excuse to visit Scotland as often as I can afford to. ;)

I'll be speaking to her at the weekend and will ask her for more details.

    Edinburgh.

It's about the only city in England where English is still spoken.

Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.

    Edinburghlass

I went to St. Andrews Uni. I didn't study English but several of my housemates did. The department has a good reputation. I would be happy to chat about my experiences (and what I know about the English Department) via PM if you would like.
