been to Waitrose since the demise of free coffee/cups and the caf! has a rather strange offer but no customers!!

Buy a coffee/tea with a Waitrose card and get free - either:

    SOUP
    ALMOND CAKE
    MUESLI/PORRIDGE

This was totally confusing the few customers as it was 2pm and they wondered why anyone would want free porridge with tea at 2pm!!

Suppose the free soup is good. Tea is £1.99 I think.

Anyone know how much they are?

Last I saw them in Waitrose, £3.

Though most recent trip, all reusable cups for sale removed & a sign advising switching to bring your own cup in their place.

    <Off to check email hopefully!>

Just received an email from Waitrose concerning the next wave of paper cup removals.

From Wednesday 23rd May paper cups will be removed from the following stores.

    Canary Wharf
    Kings Cross, Granary Square
    Cheltenham
    Exeter
    Rushden
    Salisbury
    Weston-Super-Mare
    Portishead
    Southend-on-Sea

So after that date you will have to bring your on reusable cup.

It's only freebie if they have the cups to be able to take up the offer.

No sign of a voucher for me.
On the taste issue - I've taken advantage of Hotel Chocolate's £1.00 coffee with purchase / or before 12 noon offer on occasion. Their arabica coffee is delicious :o

In an an email received this p.m.:
We’ve already made good progress and removed disposable cups from 18 stores. And now we want to let you know that from Monday 13 August, takeaway cups will be progressively removed from the large proportion of our remaining shops (excluding little Waitrose at Shell).

We’re still delighted to offer you a free hot drink whenever you shop with us. All we ask is that you bring in your own reusable cup and swipe your myWaitrose card at the checkout, each time you visit.

Yes, I got the same email.

I've been a disposable customer since they scrapped PYO but have some travel mugs if I did ever return. As with when the bag charge came in it's just a case of being prepared and having a spare mug in the car.
