  • So you spent a bit more than you wanted to but you didn't go all out spendaholic crazy did you? No you didn't & this is a massive acheivement!! Well for people like us it is anyway :rotfl:

    Chin up lovely.

Thanks Dolly, I needed that  I was close to going shopaholic crazy. It was so tempting to decide the beginnings of the emergency fund was now going to become the christmas fund and shop shop shop  It was an achievement and I need to see it that way! Thank you!

Banana raisin loaf is in the oven using up some manky bananas :Axx

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
On an unrelated note, I've just done the banking for this month as it's payday :money:

There's £400 in the debts account (we piggy bank) to cover the minimum direct debits over the rest of the month, but on top of that I've managed to pay £788.06 off the barclaycard. Mega happy with that!

I know it seems ridiculous sending the 6p but it was in that account and I've decided every penny counts :D

    Go Debbie:j:j

  • Well, I had a bit of a strop over the weekend, got a bit down and had a bit of a frustrated cry. Then I decided to put my big girl pants on and gave myself a talking to :rotfl: I'm now back on it and getting on with life in a frugal way. I'm trying to change my mentality a bit to see if I can get a competition going with myself - let's see how little money I can survive on. I thought if I set myself a little challenge I might get excited about NSDs and other MSE ways! I'll let you know how it goes!! Hope everyone is good. Thanks for the support :money:

It's ok to feel overwhelmed. It's a big mouthful you've bitten off and trying to chew. Glad you are feeling better though.

  • You're making a lot of big changes so you are allowed to have a wobble.

    Do you feel any better?

    Dxxx
  • Yeah I'm starting to feel better about things, thanks Dolly and Bobarella.

My little one isn't sleeping great at the minute, and I never cope well with sleep deprivation, so I think that had a lot to do with my mood over the weekend! I'm also job hunting because of some major changes at work that I'm not loving, so I don't get a happy escape at work either.

Anyway, enough moaning. Time to catch up on Bake Off... A nice big chocolate sponge would cheer me up massively right now... :rotfl:

I can sympathise with the lack of sleep thing. It is a massive thing to be permanently sleep deprived.

It is isn't it?? We're not doing great in this house. I don't really agree with letting them 'cry it out' or any other sleep training kinda methods, so I just end up comforting and cuddling him. Probably making a rod for my own back somehow, and am permanently shattered, so just pass the matchsticks please everyone!!

Today hasn't been too bad a day. Got lots of jobs done at home, sorting out the mountains of washing and put everything away (for someone with no clothes, how do we have so much washing??) and managed a NSD. Happy bunny.

I'm waiting until the end of the month to post an updated debt total. I'm delighted to know that I've already smashed my end-of-2016 target of being under £30,000 but I don't know by how much... Excited!:j
