  • Hi, yes retiring, been here 35 years altogether, 2 year break with eldest child, even then I worked during my “break” for periods of cover before being asked to return to full time employment.

    Sadly any thoughts of thanks for loyalty or appreciation for long services have disappeared over the years. When I worked for DWP there were regular tranches of redundancy. Almost every time, the final date of employment was the day before entitlement to annual bonus payment came into effect. Entirely coincidental of course.
