    The majority of which has probably been refunded by the company they work for, due to antiquated methods for handing expenses which require paper receipts.

    Just about every foreign tourist/colleague I know all know about Oyster. It's as London as Buckingham Palace.

    Paper tickets are "sellable" don't require a deposit or potentially all the hassle of a "by post" refund.

    TFL seems to be coining it in......poor mites :|

    Edit: standard TFL prices are some of the highest public transport fares on the planet to describe the punitive cash fares as 'pricey' is thus somewhat bazaar.

    More useful would have been a story comparing weekly/monthly/annual travel cards vs PAYG/contactless and helping people decide which is better value for people who live and work in London.

    I dispute the ALWAYS part of the headline. Basingstoke-Waterloo return with a travel card is only about £3.60 more than just a standard return.
