  • Well it is in the sense they maintain public roads, lighting, waste collections, public services like libaries etc. It funds a lot of things around you.

    What I meant was it is not a direct payment for services. Therefore there can be no reduction in CT payment if for example one lives on an unadopted road without street lighting.
    If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
