Holiday Entitlement Shift Worker

Hi all,
My son works 12 hours a day - 7 days in a row then 3 days off. Then his shift repeats through the year (7 days on - 3 days off) a day shift pattern.
My question is: how much yearly holiday entitlement should he have?
His employer says (security company) that his average hours over the year is approx: 55 hrs a week and says his holiday allowance is 25 days.
He works 242 days a year in total (12 hr shifts). 2,904 hrs
Is he owed holiday? If so how much and can he claim back for lost years. He has been with the company since 2014
Appreciate any help

7 on 3 off is a 10week cycle with 7 shift cycles.
49 days worked 21 days off(very close to a 5/2 50/20)
Statutory holiday is 28*4.9/5 = 27.44days paid at 12hr rate.
Average working week is 58.5(less unpaid breaks)0 -
Hi,
If his shift falls on a bank holiday he has to work it and receives standard pay and a lieu day at standard pay.
when he asked about his entitlement they just said it was 25 days because his average shift over the year was calculated at 55 hrs approx.
Is it to late to reclaim lost holidays since 2014, I believe they have only ever allowed him to take 25 days off in any one year.
Thanks.0 -
They have the average hours and holiday wrong.
Get them to fix that first.0
