I had an issue too. In IE Clicking the enter button gives a log in pop-up, logging in changes the button to say participate and a T&C tickbox appears. Tick the box and click participate brings up the log in pop-up again In Chrome the log in pop-up didn't show even after disabling adblockers and holding down ctrl button.

I could bring up the login/register popup in both IE and Chrome but the captcha wouldn't display for me to actually register. Many thanks for posting! I couldn't get the log-in box to show in either Chrome or IE, but then opened a 'Guest window' in Chrome, and that worked straight away.0
