Can you add non working wives to ssas?

I have read that you can add wives to an established ssas even though they do not work for the company.
Can anyone tell me the advantages of this please?

  I suggest you put this in the main Pensions forum rather than the Auto Enrolment sub-forum. People who know about SSAS's may not be that interested in Auto Enrolment.
