Hi All
First time buyers here so new to the process & not using a broker, we decided to go direct to LBS, but starting to think a broker would have sped things up a bit and would have been able to answer my questions in a more timely manner!
Anyway, we’ve been asked to pay the CHAPS FEE of £35 and was just wondering what’s the likely hood of them asking us to pay this then decline the mortgage? Has anyone else paid the fee to be subsequently declined?

They just refund it later, if needed.
