No Council Tax Bill for a Year!

YEAR 3
======
Yet another has passed, still no council tax bill.
I’m still putting the money aside, it’s up to about £5k now.
I’m thinking of getting premium bonds with it this year instead of leaving it in the isa.0 -

Have you checked if it has been banded on the VOA site?

I won't write to them or do anything else to gee them up because I am actually quite pleased they're being slow about it as I'm earning interest on the money.
You know that the money is due.
You are benefiting from the services for which CT pays.
The honest action is as described in post 2.0 -

you also seem to have stopped being pro-active yourself in getting this resolved.
what purpose is served by you apparently "rejoicing" in the fact another year has gone by when this seems to have been forgotten about?0 -

As I already stated, I am more than happy to pay it. I have already done the "honest" thing, and notified the council not once, but twice. I am now doing exactly what they told me to do - 'wait for the bill'. In what way is the not 'honest'?0 -

You need to notify the valuation office / Scottish assessors rather than the council. The council can pass the info but contacting the valuation office / Scottish assessors cuts out the middle man.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

You do not dispute that you owe the money. You do not dispute that you are benefiting from services for which you are not paying.
It may have been reasonable to wait for another few months after your second contact in 2015.
In my opinion, waiting two years from that point and not checking again with the Council or VOA is not reasonable.
It may be the case that your property has not been banded - in which case you will no doubt be told so when you enquire and have no option but to wait.
However, it seems more probable that an error has occurred - is not the honest way forward to make enquiries rather than take advantage of a mistake?0 -
I also brought a new build and still waiting for a bill.
I rang my council 5 times just to be told wait ill get a bill in due course.
Its now been 18mths and still no bill.
How did your situation work out ???0
