Cima

Hello

I'm looking to start CIMA by firstly doing the certificate level.

Realistically what is the fastest time I can do it as would like to get into the professional exams as soon as possible.

I would be able to study approx 10-15 hours a week, if needs be.

Thanks

Do you realise what you are asking?

How are we supposed to know how long it will take you?

    Thank you for your reply.

Although, I am not asking how long it will take. I am asking the fastest possible time it can be done.

I think you are missing the point. You asked what the fastest time you could do it in is. Since nobody here has a clue who toy are, what your are like, how effectively you study, whether you can retain learning etc., then nobody can tell you the answer. Your are either motivated and able to study, in which case it will take you this time it takes you, or you are not. Knowing how long it might take some hypothetical person doesn't provide you with any answer.
  • So there are four exams, and each exam is pretty much on-demand. I just did a quick search on Kaplan's website (sorry, can't link), and they are scheduling exams late August and early-September onwards. So you could be finished by the middle of next month.

I didn't do CIMA certificate as I already had a different qualification: AAT. That took me three consecutive academic years studying one day a week on day-release. I probably could have done it a bit quicker but that pace was set by the college.

Realistically I think those are your lower and upper limits. It all depends on what you already know about the subject matter, how and where you are studying, your experience at studying, how supportive your work/lifestyle is and a range of other things. I'm sure it used to say "about a year" on the website but the syllabus was changed this year and it doesn't say that any more.

    Thank you Milkyfalcon.

I think that answers my question. Theoretically speaking you could sit all 4 exams immediately if suits.
  • How did you find the CIMA with Kaplan? Was it expensive?
  • Hi You will be able to sit all 4 certificate level exams at the same time but for the following 3 levels you have to pass the 3 objective test exams before you can sit the case study exam for that level.

Firstly, I'm a bit concerned that you are posting here rather than in an accounting students forum where there would be advice about study techniques, exam hints etc.

I think a lot of people do a level a year studying around 10-15 hours a week so that might be a guide.
