Indeed. He pays the extra and then OP pays it back over a few months.Hardly rocket science to work that one out ! Keeps the loan off the books and stops worrying the lender.
Got to say, if the OP is this tight on money, and also don't discuss with their partner what frankly is a trivial amount in the context of a house purchase, are they ready to buy a house, and buy a house together ?0
