This forum helped me so much in 2015 when I did my debt relief order- im generally a ‘lurker’ and love reading everyone’s experiences so thought this might help ease worries of the future in terms of credit.
since being discharged, I managed to get a mobile contract with the provider that was a previous debt in my dro?! And I got tv and broadband with no issues. I experienced no issues with getting car insurance (though very expensive, don’t know if that’s due to my credit file). Got a catalogue account and paid off always on time and finally just got a credit card. Tiny limit but who cares, I just want to pay in full and show I can be responsible.
Hopefully in a few years I can apply for mainstream credit cards.

Oh and I used a basic account from Barclays and nationwide flex basic. After a year (when I got discharged) I closed them and applied for normal current accounts. Got accepted and was then able to upgrade the accounts to the ones I wanted!0
