    But she's APPLYING for part time jobs, not trying to get full time ones and then adapt to part time.

    To me the question about why part time is they want to be sure that the person they employ isn't going to drop them the second a full time job comes up - so the true answer about it being better for your work life balance and financially not needing full time work sounds like the perfect answer
