Repayment of Housing Benefit

I am currently repaying Housing Benefit to my local council - it is taken every fortnight from my current HB payments.
If I declare bankrupt, will I still need to continue to make these repayments?

Hi Flora McDora
A benefit overpayment will be included in bankruptcy as long as it hasn't been treated as fraudulent, and it covers a period prior to the bankruptcy order. If this applies to your overpayment then the deductions from your ongoing claim will stop once your bankruptcy order has been made.
