Lowell financial on behalf of T-Mobile

Hi
In the past I've found a lot of help on this site so I hope you guys might be able to advise me again.
In 2010 i had a contract with t mobile, in the September I ran up a bill for approx £85 and they cut me off. I was out of work so couldn't afford to pay it but in the October I started a new job so agreed to pay off the £85 and did so in December. During the period of September- December while this amount was outstanding, t mobile cut the phone off so I couldn't even receive incoming calls or texts never mind send outgoing. Two days after the balance was paid t mobile then cut me off again advising I had another £80+ bill which i contested as obviously my phone had been cut off so there was no way I could have run up a bill. I advised I was cancelling the direct debit and not paying anything else until they sent evidence of how the bill was run up which they never did so basically I never paid.
Over the first year they sent loads of letters but after moving address I didn't hear from them again. I have today received a letter at my new address 4 years after the original conversation with t mobile from a 'lowells financial' advising that they would like me to start a repayment plan of £1 per day to clear the debt. I'm a little concerned as I don't understand if they can take me to court etc. I don't want to pay the money which now stands at £439.88 because I don't believe I owe it to them. I am also unsure as I have heard before that DCA's have no right to chase you for the money (only what I heard not saying it's true) it also says to call if I don't believe I owe the money but i thought I would seek advice on here first!
Thanks in advance
