It's not stooopid - I asked a similar question once because I'd not used coconut milk/cream before and didn't know

I would just melt it into warm water and add that. I use those solid blocks of coconut and melt them/part of them down as required. Just do some of it if it is one of those large blocks - you can always add more

phew thanks ,i dont feel quite so thick now
unless you are just saying that to make me feel better ? lmao0 -
If you have those sachets that are 50g each, then I would use 2 sachets dissolved in about 1/2 pint warm water. If you can get to an ethnic shop, it's cheaper to buy creamed coconut in blocks, I get it for about 30p for 200g.
I don't use the tins, I prefer to use the blocks because then you can use as much or as little as you want.0 -
thanks filigree
i used one sachet and about 300ml of water and it was very yummy and fab :T
will try and get some in a block when the sachets run out0 -
If you've got some dessicated coconut lurking in the cupboard you can add boiling water to it and then after a little while strain it off and you have HM coconut milk!0

Definitely not stoopid - I didn't know either
