Hello to everyone.
i need you knowledge
i became permanent resident in UK within the tax year 2017/2018 -
- how much is my annual allowance of tax free income?
- do i have the full amount tax free - or only partially from the month i arrived in UK?
for the first months I was paid weekly and now monthly in case this matters.
could i transfer any "unused" allowance to the next tax year?
cheers and many thanks in advance.

If you are entitled to the UK Personal Allowance then it is £11,500 for 2017:18.
It isn't apportioned but could theoretically be less than £11,500 if your "adjusted net income" was over £100,000. Google adjusted net income for more details if you think this may be relevant to you.
You cannot transfer any of your Personal Allowance to a different tax year.0 -
thanks for the quick answer - it is below 100.0000
-
so basically - i must have earned 11.500£ last year tax free.
i need to calculate that.0 -
If you are electing the remittance basis, the personal allowance will be nil.0

hi - as I am new in UK - what does this mean?0
-
I'm not new in the UK and dont know what it means either !
Cook County ?0 -
If you don't know what it means then don't worry, as clearly you won't be electing to pay on that basis!0
-
if i would post my P60 here - could anyone tell me if i overpaid INcome tax?0
-
No.
But if you post your P60 details and tell us about all other taxable income you have received in the year then yes.0 -
thanks that would help me.
which details of the P60 slips do you need?0
