I just came across this and thought it may be of interest:

Lord Of The Rings Trilogy - Extended Edition (12 dvds) - £15 at Virgin
http://www.virginmegastores.co.uk/invt/597512
A must for every DVD collection and at an extremely bargain price!
Even if you already have the standard editions of the films, I can seriously recommend getting the extended editions. A lot of footage was removed from the theatrical versions to keep the mammoth running time down. These are fully restored in the extended version and binds the 3 movies into an even more satisfying whole.
There's also 6 dvds worth of special features to wade through as well, each offering a fantastic and entertaining insight into the making of this ambitious movie trilogy, not to mention several commentaries for each movie.
The dvd packaging is also absolutely stunning, perfectly reflecting the craft and attention to detail that permeates this amazing trilogy.
Edit: It also appears, according to hotukdeals, that you can get 10% off if bought using a special voucher (available via that top link) and a virgin credit card.

Top tip - Sign up to http://www.find-dvd.co.uk/ and you can price watch any UK DVD and they even send you an email when they spot your specific DVD has gone down below a price you set0 -
might be worth trying if you can get student discount (if you have an NUS card)0

Thanks very much, (pressed the thanks button already) Just wanted to say thanks.... Not been into LOR though i will have a look at this price (12DVD for £15 thats less than £1.50 a disk)
Just seen its already been posted http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=4709970 -
I ordered this yesterday and also got the email back saying it has been back ordered. Not being too happy about this I have emailed Virgin because on the site it clearly said they had stock and it would be delivered within 7 days.
I've also checked my order on the virgin site and the order is sitting in back order status but the price is at £44.99 instead of the advertised £15.00 so I hope this is just a mistake and that they don't expect me to charge this amount.0 -
Back ordered here too
Maybe someone made a mistake on the price and this is their way of getting out of it. Email reads that if they can't get stock inn 30 days, they will cancel your order. Nice an easy way for them to cover mistake
Note: Says £15 at top of order as amount to pay. The £44.99 lower down was the original price before the discount, so this is fine that its still listed, doesn't mean you will pay that.0 -
I had tried to order too - but the order would not complete.
Visited a Virgin Megastore, they had plenty in stock, and were marked at 30 pounds. Manager said it was not their policy to honour any website prices.0 -
Showing as £44.99 now

Coo, thought they were going to use the 30 day rule to cancel my back order but I got an email today saying it has been dispatched and at £15 too.
Thanks again OP :beer:0
