I'm after one of these, either an S or F series.
Cheapest sources? eBay seems to be the best bet at the moment, how about online stores?
They are cheaper on US sites but there's the custom tax implications - anyone know any good US suppliers?
Cheers!

US models are not covered for European warranty and they will have US power supplies, have a look on price runner or kelkoo ( see blue bit above) Watch out on eBay as a lot of the notebooks are links to pyramid schemes and you could get ripped off;)0

Cheers, I've done some research and found that I can send the laptop back to SOny US if necessary, so the warranty isn't so much a problem. I'd only send it back if it was a serious fault, like a screen or motherboard problem. Everything else I can sort myself here.
Laptop power supplies are multi-voltage, so that's not a problem either
So it's just the import tax issue really, and finding a good, reliable supplier for it.
I agree with eBay, there are a lot of dodgy deals on there but there is the odd gem too.0 -
Any more recommendations gratefully appreciated

try Sony's own online store - they also sell refurbished machines

Yeah I've had a look on there, their prices seem to be the highest! - Even the refurbs are quite expensive unforutnately. Thanks anyway

Found a decent deal on a Vaio B1-VP for £500, but I didn't go for it as I'm really after an S-series.
Dell's are quite cheap now but most look rather cheap and plasticky
Still holding out on a nice Vaio for a good price. 0
