I've been looking at a lot of 19" LCD computer monitors and this has had a lot of good write ups...Its about £50 cheaper than a lot of places are selling it for at the moment at Comet and nearly half the price of around a year ago!!!!!!!!!!!

This seems to be a good deal however I am unsure if its the same one I have as mention earlier, as the specs dont say it has dvi mealy vga. It states model is VA1912 W-2 as mine is VA1912W
Even if it doesnt have dvi its still a good deal, and excellent model. I got this for £100 less cashback in May and it was the cheapest place I could find then. Greta find mike
Mine came both with vga and dvi cabels I have two pc connected to monitor through either interfaces.0 -

Is this a good buy? Anyone?0

I got a VA1912w much earlier in the year from DABS (I wish it was at this price) - it's been a great monitor on DVI. No bad pixels and only a very slight light bloom in the top r/h corner - *just* visible on ultra-black background when gaming (if you're not paying attention to the game). I don't know what constitutes the "W2" part - mine does look the same as the picture on the Comet web site. On the Viewsonic web site they quote the VA1912Wb - shown in black not silver, but could be just trim.
This is the Viewsonic "VALUE" (hence "VA") range and I'd certainly get one again - however I haven't tried the built-in speakers, I use separates.
Hope this helps....0 -
Bear in mind that the comet one has a vga input as opposed dvi...guess you will have to make your own mind up if this important to you or notThe Early bird may catch the worm ...but its the second mouse that gets all the cheese!0

I think its a good buy even without dvi assuming it hasnt got it as I havent seen any evidence it has. I personnel would rather have dvi but if I had the dosh I get this for my daughter.
I am not sure the VA stands for value as mine is Va1912w with dvi0 -
Darn, Paid £220 and thought I had a good deal, just under a year ago, Mine has DVI but model # is VA1912W0

You could get a different monitor from Ebuyer.com for £130 with DVI. Most have both!
So why bother buying something thats basically old technology?
Sooner or later VGA will be phased out and your monitor should last 5 years or more so you might as well have it ready for the future as you will update your PC before needing to update your monitor.
Note that the monitor you are mentioning at Comet doesn't come with 3 years warranty, this is extra (£40). Most monitors (if not all) have 3 years warranty on ebuyer.com so factor that in if you want the 3 years peace of mind.
If you do purchase from Ebuyer, ensure you check for dead pixels and get it exchanged if you find any. Ebuyer.com will arrange a pick up and send another out (for free) if you tell them you want it exchanged due to dead pixels, so don't just put up with it, as you've paid for a perfect working item.0 -
Its the usual Comet con to make you buy an extended warrenty...all viewsonic lcd monitors sold new come with a three year warantee..check out there web site and you will see ...effectively comet are trying to flog you something you already have..
