CASHMERE disaster!! Please help

Options
Due to being rather dopey, have put 100% cashmere scarf in the wash and just found it

Is there any way of saving it? 40C wash, non bio, spin 1200. It now feels like carpet underlay and is all bent out of shape. Please help, in floods of tears as is favorite one and stupidly spent £25 on it.

Also had 100% merino wool and angora in there but hoping these will stretch out ok.

Try soaking it in fabric conditioner, i read somewhere that it sometimes helps when you`ve shrunk woollens in the wash.Think you have to soak, then gently stretch back into shape.Hope it helps.

Hate to tell you this but you have 'felted' it ... it's how felt is made, that.
    It's irreversible, Sorry.

I am sorry to say that there is nothing you can do to restore it to its former glory, the fibres have gone through an irreversible change.

have calmed down some now and have decided that a felt scarf is much in fashion.

The merino wool didn't shrink and the angora stretched out ever so slowly just about fits.

    Thanks everyone
