Have you ever thought about skydiving but been too scared to give it a go? Well now you can get the same feeling of freefall but in a safe and controlled environment. Airkix, in Milton Keynes, have built a vertical wind tunnel indoors where you can skydive without having to jump out of an plane.

The tunnel is powered by four fans that produce wind speeds of up to 150mph. To skydive, you literally just fall into the airflow and float on a column of air, no parachute required. Within seconds you can actually fly your body, making small adjustments to your body position to go up, down, left and right.
