I've had a LiteOn DVD writer drive on my PC for years and its been superb - got a great reputation within the industry but brobably arent that well known by consumers.

Also, not sure if you can get cashback through sites like greasypalm etc but I know that if you use the Amazon Credit Card that Martin mentioned in his latest email you get a point for every pound which can then be converted into vouchers...

Im having similiar problems. Also bought mine from Argos, when they were selling them for £109 or something. Had to take my first one back due to a problem. The one I now have is just about useable, but very fussy about what types of DVD's it prefers. Sometimes it appears to record, then on playback it doesnt work. Other occasions when you press the Stop button after recording, Stop flashes on the screen but then everything freezes up again, and you lose your recording - great. As for Timer recordings, im yet to have one work successfully. Complete waste of time and money.

Go for a better brand.
