M&S Buy a 40" Sony TV get a 20" sony TV free

Posted this on shop but don't drop. Thought I'd put it here too as more people read this.

Don't know how their TVs compare valuewise with other retailers but might be helpful to someone. 6% Quidco.

What's the catch?

  • the catch is that the 40" TVs are nearly twice as expensive as you can get them from other places.

    For example - this TV: http://www.marksandspencer.com/gp/product/B000PI1BBE/sr=1-10/qid=1203092706/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&node=&m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&keywords=&mnSBrand=core&size=9&rh=n%3A71157031&page=2 - I paid £720 for it!
  • Hi, I have looked at this deal, and while M & S prices on each unit are a little steep, e.g.

    20" = M & S £399 - other online retailers around £300 (~£100 over)
    40" = M & S £849 - other online retailers around £800 (~£50 over)

    M & S are also throwing in a free 5 year warranty.

    So - if I have this right, you are paying £100 for the little TV? Then when you add in Quidco @ £50, the little tv works at just £50....

    Or am I missing something?:confused:

    Looks like a good spot to me.........
    Jools
    (p.s. I have ignored ebays prices, and only looked at the 40" tvs - maybe the bigger ones have a bigger difference?)

    The 5 year warranty is a bonus. Also you get free delivery with the code FREEDELV and if, like me, you have a M&S &more card you get loyalty points to spend instore too.

  • If I remember correctly, the M&S tv was slated by Which?. But don't quote me on that.

    Apologies if it wasn't.
    The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

    Buying both seperate works out at £969 on price runner. Considering it's a reputable store and you get a 5 year warranty I'd say it was a great deal
