best to weigh 1st thing in morning (before breakfast!). dont dwell on daily/weekly changes too much- as long as a small steady loss is being maintained, without going silly, u should do ok!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
You know the ones in the GP may not have been calibrated in years.
The hospital i worked in, I could go to four sets of scales in four different out patient areas and get four different readings on the same day. The only ones that were true were the ones in paediatrics - they were checked daily.
I would actually be inclined to stay with the WW scales. This is because you will be weighed on those weekly at around the same time of day0 -
There's recently been an audit on weighing scales in the hospital where I work as someone in another hospital was overdosed on anaesthetic due to scales being inaccurate. They've realised that the scales just sit there and are never calibrated and not accurate at all.
The thing to do, as mentioned is weigh yourself on the same set of scales at the same time of day in similar clothing . I do myself first thing in the morning with nothing on, my weight can easily fluctuate by four or five pounds throughout the day this is normal, fluid in, fluid out etc etc.... going to a class at the same time should be reasonably accurate or going to Boots or similar at the same time of day . What you want is a consistent downwards trend then you know it's working.
Sadly my scales seem to be stuck on the same numbers at the moment
I'll keep trying!!

I once went to the doctors and got weighed, the scales were 2 stone out!
The doctor told me I was over weight and needed to diet (was not the case at the time...although it is now
) and even threatened to take me off the pill. When I argued he told me I was in denial.
I was literally in tears and made him get another set off another GP to prove it to him and sure enough my GP's scales were 2 stone out!
Bear in mind I was only 16 at the time and I never did get an apology. Needless to say I do not see that GP anymore!0
