    I have had quite a few things but I have also NOT HAD quite a few things, I cant remember what they are for all of them but I know they haven't been sent to me :sad: Its a bit like the competition thread, you never see anybody shouting about winning one of the big 1st prizes, yet you would think someone off this site would get lucky as there are quite a few of us who do the competition forms as well. Never mind onwards and upwards, perhaps I'll win the lottery soon!!!?

    Of the things I can remember I haven't received the Biore nose strips and moisturiser, also haven't had the comfort air freshener. Applied for both of these first time round a few weeks back.....anyone else not had theirs?

    I've had both of these so don't give up hope. The things I've never received are lillets & veet wax strips. Had some brilliant freebies though.

    I recently tried to make Pigsback give me some points that I felt I was entitled to. I thought I might try and push them as hard as I could... Needless to say, I already got a great deal, but the prospect of getting my home and contents insured for a tenner (including all discounts and piggpoints) was too alluring!

    see what you think of the email trail (i've removed names etc).
    What would you do in my situation?

    Thank you for your e-mail.

To take up the offer from Pigsback.com you were to Click on the 'Take Up Offer' and complete the transaction that way. Apologies but I cannot credit you PiggyPoints for this transaction you made over the phone.

    =========================================================

    Dear Ciara,

    Thank-you for your quick response.

    I feel that this situation is wholly unfair, especially seeing as the ad proclaimed that they guaranteed to beat our insurance quote. The fact that we tried to get our cheaper quote via their online system should count, seeing as they provided no way to complete the 'beat your renewal quote' deal via the online system.

    If their online quoting system would never provide a quote that would be cheaper than anyone's renewal quote, then this offer would never pay out any points: This borders on false advertising!

    In addition to the above, may I bring your attention to the following points:
    1. The exact wording on the page is: "To take up this offer simply click on the button below:"
    2. I can find no wording on either the Pigsback or the Barclays websites that dictates that I needed to complete the transaction using the online system.
    3. We clicked on the link from Pigsback and then proceeded to purchase the item.
    4. We have satisfied all of the terms and conditions as are stated on the Barclays website.

    I feel that the advert has been falsely worded and Pigsback and Barclays should take immediate action to rectify this.

    Yours sincerely,

    ==============================================================

    Apologies for the delay getting back to you as I had to contact the Barclays Account Manager to discuss this issue.

    As the offer states:

    'We'll beat your Home Insurance Renewal deal. If we don't, we'll lower our price by up to £100 and
    give you £50 when you switch to us.'

    This does not state that they will always beat your insurance quote, and if they don't they will reduce their
    price by £100 and give you £50 for switching. Therefore this was not false advertising as they would have
    reduced your price by £100 as it did not beat your renewal quote. This offer would have been completed had you
    purchased the offer online.

    The 'Take up Offer' tab indicates that the offer is to be taken up there online, unfortunately this is only an online offer
    and I'm sorry to say that I cannot credit PiggyPoints for purchases made over the phone.

    Apologies once again for this inconvenience caused.

    Kind Regards,

    =============================================================

    Hi Ciara,

    Thank-you again for your very swift response.

    I'm afraid I'm still not satisfied with this answer.

    The fact remains that there is no way to access the 'beat your renewal quote' offer online! Therefore there would almost never be a situation in which (to quote the advertising banner on Pigsback):
    "Barclays guarantee to beat any home insurance quote - and you'll get 2000 PiggyPoints"!

    Really, what the banner should say is:
    "Barclays guarantee to beat any home insurance quote - but we can only award you 2000 PiggyPoints if you buy the non-competitive quote that we offer you via our online system."
    or:
    "Barclays can't guarantee to beat any home insurance quote - but will give you 2000 PiggyPoints if you buy via our online system."

    There is no way that Barclays can guarantee both to:
    1. 'beat any home insurance quote'
    2. award the customer 2000 PiggyPoints.
    Each of the offers is exclusive of the other!

    Here are the scenarios:
    1. User clicks through to Barclays through Pigsback and gets a quote. The quote is £X more than what their current provider has offered them. The user cannot access the 'beat your renewal' offer and has to call up. The user buys the product but the order cannot be completed online. The user does not receive any points.

    2. User clicks through to Barclays through Pigsback and gets a quote. The quote is £X more than what their current provider has offered them. They buy it online without accessing the 'beat your renewal' offer but they get 2000 PiggyPoints.

    So as you can see, either way the user loses, whether it be on points or in the quote!

    What I am really asking is that the wording be changed, or Barclays provide a means for the offer to be accessed via the online system; otherwise users of Pigsback cannot make a fully-informed decision.

    I still feel that the advert has been falsely worded and Pigsback and Barclays should take immediate action to rectify this.

    Yours sincerely,

    ==============================================================

    My apologies once again, but the offer did say that 'If they can't, they'll lower their quote price by up to £100 and
    give you £50 when you switch.'

    The member of staff you spoke to in Barclays should have been made aware that you were a Pigsback.com member
    and they should have told you that the offer was online only to gain PiggyPoints.

    However, I will inform my colleagues to ensure that they are aware that the offer can be misleading to some of
    our members like yourself and for the offer page to be updated to ensure situations like this do not arise again.

    Kind Regards,
