Thanks for the encouragement Lysa.
Hayley - I have made a bit of progress with the PPI claim against welcome. The branch has agreed that I was missold ppi on both the car hp and a prior loan based on the fact their own staff told me PPI was compulsary and even put that in writting   They are dragging heels about providing a figure that would put us in a similar position if no PPI so I have escalated it from local branch to the head office along with copies of all letters from their branch. Told them I have been more than patient and I want a cheque ASAP. ( PPI has cost us over 7k over both loans including interest). When are you due then? Middle of october i'm guessing?? What you having??
BOB - I swear someone steals most of my day. Thats it gone 9pm already and I still have quite a bit to do. It is also seeming like the days are all merging into one.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

It sounds like you are making some real progress, I'd imagine the hardest part was getting them to admit liability for their bad practice. Hopefully they will give you some money back soon

I am due October 14th, can't wait LOL.
I managed to get some of the big stuff we need to sell on ebay so hope it goes (fridge and sofas!). Clearing the house is easier said than done!

Well it's Friday, OH pay day
another week when our bank account has stayed in the black and we havent dipped the overdraft
We currently have a little over £500 in credit with only the weekly shop and maybe petrol to buy from it. I will therefor be switching some to our savings account and maybe I will make a small over payment to the mortgage. We both get paid next friday too and there is enough from my wages to cover all the big bills so we should add to our cussion just in case OH isn't working for a few weeks.
Speaking of that OH got a call from a guy he used to work with, apparently his place are looking (permanent but not as good money ) but start isn't until 29th september, OH printed his CV and letter of application last night so hopefully something might come of that. It looks like he has enough work to last at least 2 weeks so hopefully when this contract ends he won't be off for too long.
Still noting from welcome. they replied to formal complaint on 1st august with a copy of their complaints leaflet saying they will try to address all concerns within 4 weeks if they need longer they will write and tell me so, if they cannot resolve within 8 weeks then i can go to the FOS. I actually need a bit of help trying to work out exactly what they are due me, I do not trust their working outs. The annoying thing is in the mean time I still have 3k outstanding to them which will be more than cleared by a ppi refund yet it is costing me £276 a month. I don't want to stop payment as i don't want to give them any excused to try wriggle out of their responsibilities and liability plus as its a fixed tearm every payment is coming off the capital anyway so its reducing the total amount owed.
Nothing else happening. I got the letter yesterday confirming that our Sofa HP was clear and the account closed. It feels good clearing another debt even if it was only £20 a month.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Letter received from welcome today. Nothing interesting just saying they need more time to investigate. What a pile of pants.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

I really really must stop abandoning this diary.
Well theres is some good news and some bad news. Good news is it is my pay day today
its always nice to see a healthy bank account even if it is only until Monday when all the DD's come out. DH also got paid.
Another good thing is I have a payment of £123 scheduled from quidco this month so hopefully that should be sent soon. Another good thing is I have money due from my search funds only £20 but its a start. That should almost pay for 3/5 of our grocery shop.
The bad news is I have an ill husband. He collapsed at work earlier in the week. He has a bloodclot on his lung and quite a serious infection. He will make a full recovery thank god but he will need some time off. As I said before I can cover the basics on my wages plus child benefit but not much else and we have a cushion of around 1k in the bank before we are touching overdraft/credit cards. Hopefully he will be 100% before that happens but if not then there is no need to panic, it would only make a small dent in our dfd.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

So sorry to hear your OH is poorly; it sounds quite unpleasant. I'm very pleased to hear there will be no lasting damage, which is the main thing.

Hope hubby gets better soon..horrible thing to happen. xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
