Ok guys - so I started a while back. Full of good intentions to sort the debt, yadda yadda, sure we've all said it before - and then ???? Here we are now half way through 2008 and I'm definately no further forward.
So - down to business.
I have been a non smoker for 6 months
I am tackling the weight issue - and lost 7 & 1/2lbs in5 weeks - another 8 & 1/2 lbs to go.
I currently owe £8,435 and want this gone ASAP.
Next week I wil be getting £200 from the CSA (yay!!!) This will pay my catalogue in full and leave me £50 for something else.
DS badly needs a hair cut - but can I persuade him to get it done?!?!?
That will be around £10, hmm - leaves £40 - think I will keep £10 for me and £30 off the credit cards.
I have discovered that if I have money in my purse (only £10 ish) I don't tend to spend it. If I don't have money - I get really panicky (How weird is that???)
Am happy with my SOA as it is. Just waiting for revised housing benefit amount following the Tax Credits end of year thingy.
Will also start meal planning (on the list of jobs for today) and more home cooking - less processed stuff.
Ok - so need to go and get a new key cut for DS - he's managed to bend his. Oh - the joys of a teenager!!!
Will try and post regularly - especially when I have paid some money off of a debt!!

So - walked to work yesterday. If I can do this just one day every week - I will save nearly a weeks worth of petrol every month - and money as well!
Checked the internet bank this morning and the CSA money is there (yay!!)
Will pay off Littlewoods at the weekend £150 debt - gone!
Also - realised that I don't have to pay my contents insurance this month as it's all paid. That's another £8 that can be paid off the credit card.
Will be checking renewal quotes today - and quidco of course!Debt at 2nd LBM (!) Jun 08 £8,435 - hm, let's not go there!!

Well done Coolmum66 on the non-smoking :money:
not just money saving but good for your health.
My parents put the money they would have spent into a savings account and in ONE YEAR paid for the entire family (17 of us at the time) to go on holiday. And 15 years later, they're still with us and much healthier for giving up smoking.0 -
aargh - am so mad at Littlewoods!!
ordered a bed (for ds) back in Oct on bnpl - been paying a bit each month - was going to clear it this weekend.
About 3 weeks ago the bed broke - big knot in the side rail - absolutely splintered. Rang Littlewoods - they were going to arrange to send new side rails. But it could take up to 21 days. Not heard anything so rang them again today. Now - they can't get the side rails and they no longer sell the same bed. But - I can order another one and they will collect and refund the old one - which I guess is fair. My son is sleeping on the matress on the floor at the moment - what if they want to collect before the new bed arrives?!?! Why was I told they would send new side rails?????? Will not pay this off at the weekend as they will have to refund me. Will find a bed somewhere else!
Also - got a lawnmower from them end of April - it now doesn't work. Checked the fuse and such like! Littlewoods gave me the Flymo helpline number - got fed up after being on hold for 10 MINS - found local service people on internet. Aargh!!!!
Stressy, stressy!!
Apart from that - have not spent any unplanned money this week. Few bits of shopping covered by the shopping budget.
Chin up - keep smiling!Debt at 2nd LBM (!) Jun 08 £8,435 - hm, let's not go there!!
