problem with Beacon's "Offers" system??

Hiya all,

My OH and I have applied for a mortgage with Beacon (OH has a satisfied default on his file) through L&C - 6.68% fixed for 2 years (apparently through a packager not really sure what this means ).

It's been apparently approved by the underwriter last week - they've now returned our documents (tax credits, bank statements,pay slips etc.)

We've been told by our case manager at L&C that apparently Beacons' "offers system" is down (we've been told this for the last week or so).

Our solicitor is poised and rearing to go - it's an inter-family purchase so we're not really working to a deadline but I'm super duper anxious about this!

Has anyone else heard about this problem with Beacon? Apparently that's all we're waiting for is the official offer letter, but I'm still not happy to go ahead with the searches yet just in case (even though our broker said our case has been looked at and approved by the underwriter) -

any thoughts appreciated on whether we can acutally start "doing" things to the house yet? It needs a complete rewiring and we have the money to do it, but loathe spending the cash if we can't purchase the property due to not getting a mortgage

ok, well after reading through lots and lots of other threads on here over the last few weeks, there don't appear to be that many brokers / clients mentioning Beacon.

I was just keeping my fingers crossed that someone on here had heard something about the "system" being out of action
