I'm confused, please help

icon5.gifI'm confused, please help!
I work full time and have also been babysitting with an agency; this work varies sometimes twice a week, sometimes I dont babysit for weeks at a time, anyway, a friend of mine has made me paranoid that if the agency got audited I would be in trouble for not declaring this extra income, is this true? How do I go about declaring it??

Many thanks for any help you can offer

Don't the agency pay your tax? Or are you working for them on a self employed basis?

Hi hun, if you work through an agency like i do the tax people will already know about you. And i get paid via the agency and my tax and NI are paid through them. Agencies cant get away with paying on the side. Please dont take any notice of your friend. Unless you are getting cash in hand. {and of course there is no such thing} then yes you should declare it. But as you say if you do the work through an agency you should have nothing to worry about. x x x x
