We can't get channel 5 and missed the programme. It said in the Radio Times '...while Ruth Liptrot meets ordinary people who take money saving to extremes.'
Did anyone see it and can they tell me what the extremes were?
Thank you.

Hi moanymoany,
I'm afraid I'm working evenings this week and I haven't had a chance to watch it yet so I can't help, but I've moved your thread over to the It Pays to Watch board where you should get more replies.

Unfortunately, the website only shows the after-show Q&A session and not the actual programme that was broadcast.
The 'extreme moneysaving' referred to was probably old-style cleaning. There were tips about using white vinegar, stardrops and bicarb for household cleaning rather than expensive products. That featured forum regular, Stephen Leak - who also managed to miss the programme himself!
Most of the show focused on reducing utility bills using comparison sites etc.0 -

It was very interesting as there was a person who had taken money-saving to such an extreme as to buy bulk dog food for his family dinners. There was another example wherein a woman cut down on eating and actually saved thousands a month!0
