What sort of dimensions are we talking about here when it comes to the size of the machines? I'd like to get one but I'm already seriously lacking in counter space especially as I've now moved the microwave onto it since we'll be using it every morning for DD's porridge. I need a smallish one and cheap as well. Can anyone give me some ideas?Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Just measured my Panasonic and base area is 9" deep x 13" wide and you'd need a good couple of feet for height clearance. The machine is only 15" high but you need to allow for opening the lid etc and heat escape.
The Breville one I've got, which is supposed to be a compact BM, is 13" deep x 10" wide and that surprises me as I thought the Panasonic one looked bigger"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

No of course not!!!!
Ok, I can recommend two books simply because they are aimed at English users and have some delightful recipes, one of which only arrived yesterday so I've not yet sampled the recipes but just looking through it makes me
The first is The Complete Bread Machine Cookbook and the second, which I've just been looking through, is Traditional Breads for your Breadmaker and this has lots of yummy regional recipes too.
I'm just looking for the invoice to see how much I paid for it cos I know it was cheap ... damn I can't find it at mo, but basically I paid less than £30 for this book, Delia's Kitchen Garden, a book on preserving fruits, jams etc, plus 20 other books in a lucky bag thing from The Book People. According to the cover it retails at £16.99 but I'm sure it only cost me something like 5 or 6 quid."An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
