Worrid about DCA's Advice Needed!!

Wondered if any of you great guys out there could help me with a worry I have?

I am just about to enter into a DMP with PayPlan, the releif I felt last week about confornting everything is starting to fade, I think because the reality of everything is now hitting home and now I have all my paperwork through and Payplan are about to start contacting everyone, it all seem real now.

So far you guys and Payplan have given me great advice but I am suddenly worrying about the possibility of DCA's coming to my house.

I think the main worry I have is I have a debt with Barcalycard. It was around £10k this time last year, but I now have it done to £7.5k.

Last year I missed one payment and a DCA called Mercer wrote to me saying I had 7 days to pay or somebody would call at my house, they even gave me a date of the visit. I immediatly contacted them, payed over the phone (which I could not afford to do) and gave them my Debit Card Details so they could collect from me for the next couple of months - yeah I know, Stupid, but at the time I knew no better as was frightened.

I am really worried that these guys are going to start getting nasty again. Payplan have already warned me that these guys are not nice and not to pay them anything, or get into negotiations with them.

Has anyone else had any dealings with them? Do they actually come round to your house?

Also, I have a loan and CC with Nat West and am worried how they will react to the DMP - Any one had any dealings with Nat West and how they react to DMPs?

Would really appreciate some advice as I am so up and down at the moment!!!

Thank you all - Angel Cake xx:(

Don't worry, someone will be along soon with a suitable letter for you to send to any DCA that may be hassling you advising everything must be in writting. There is also a letter to respond to any threat of a 'door step call'.

Also as a precaution Angel, I would inform your bank you have lost your debit card and get a new one issued....thereby stopping Mercer's if they feel inclined to take any more payments without your authorisation ;)

    Hello AC

Don’t worry, some of these DCA’s are only nasty in words, they won’t harm you physically, I know that’s not much comfort, but we are all here to support one another.

The most important aspect for you is, NEVER EVER GET INTO A CONVERSATION WITH THEM, hang up immediately you know it’s a creditor / DCA.

You could send this letter to your creditors / DCA’s send by RECORDED DELIVERY.

    Your Address

    Date

    Creditor / DCA Name

    Address

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Re:− Account/Reference Number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
