what's my next move?

Me and my partner applied to extend our loan with the Aliance and leicester. Current balance is £2600 and wanted to lend a further £2400. We were rejected to our surprise, as we are in a far better position now ,than we were 2 yrs ago .We have checked our credit files they have came back fair and good scores, the only recent entry on there was our remortgage in November of last year.
Is it worth while trying another lender? We really don't want to ruin our credit score by applying for a loan only for the same outcome.
Could anyone recommend a lender that may help us,or are we better waiting a while before applying to a new lender.
thankyou

what do your credit records actually say.. scored dont mean much
what other debts do you have... CCs, OD?
why not simply save up for what you want and thereby avoid paying the interest0 -
Thank you for your reply.without going into to much detail the credit records are fine ,no bad marks but it does have a credit check from a building society when we remortgaged and were declined,we were successful second time around.as for other debts we only have the aliance and leicester loan at £126 per month.our 2 credit cards are at zero balance with £3000 available and no overdraft, but were offered one only a couple of weeks ago from our bank.
The reason for the loan is that we need to replace our car, it would all be to easy to use credit cards for this, but we no this is a no brainer. The car is essential for work and we do a lot of millage, so a cheap cheap type of car is no good .We were looking for a car in the £2000 range. You are right when you say to save up,but time is not on our side.No car no wages.0 -
making a small number of credit applications won't ruin your credit record0
