Sounds to me like you could do with decreasign our outgoings. You have quite a bit on working and studying (good luck with your course btw I start in September!)

Have you considered thinking about offering lower payments to any credit commitments, will damage your credit history but could give you the breathing space to study and live and achieve your longterm goal?

    Hi mammame.

First of all welcome to MSE and the Deft Free Wannabe board in particular. You're amongst friends here.

Secondly, it would help us greatly if you could put a Statement of Affairs (SOA) on here. This is basically a list of all your money that comes in and goes out every month. This has to include everything (ie, gas, water, elec, tv licence, Sky, food, housekeeping, travel, rent/mortgage, council tax, debts, nappies, hairdressing and all the small things). Then our crack team of DFWs can pick it apart and save you lots of money. If you go to this thread here then it should show you what to put on.

In the meantime, if you're expecting to be OK at the end of the month but it doesn't pan out that way, it may help if you started keeping a spending diary. Again this is a list of everything you spend, right down to the smallest chocolate bar. Believe me when I say that those small purchases (bar of chocolate, can of pop) really do add up.

    Best wishes,

    GingerSte.

  • Hi and welcome why dont you post a SOA (statement of affairs) lots of info can be found on this in this forum and then im sure there are plenty of people that will be able to suggest things to help. Also why not start selling things now car boots and ebay are great. Check out the make an extra £10 a day thread theres loads of ideas on there for how to make a bit extra. I currently do lots of survey sites which are good for a payout every couple of months.
Good luck im sure you will get the help you need on here

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    Hey

Have you asked the college if they can provide a bus pass. Mine gave me one so i could get to college and back for free?

can you also try reducing your sky to the minimum for the remaining 7 months?

cut out the dinners at work can you take food in from the weekly shop amount? it may only be £10 Per week I assume but that's over £40 a month you could send to a creditor !!

it would help if you can let us know the interest rates on each one so we can see where you are paying the most interest (give them a call if you are not sure?

I wish you luck - I managed to pay off my debts whilst studying full time - also ask the college about vouchers for books etc and check they don't provide free childcare etc

If you are in credit with your elec can you try and reduce the DD amount as you'll use less over the coming months now summer looks like it's coming - try unplugging stuff after you've used it too you'll save a mint...
