We have gone from owning our own home to renting because we didn't wabt to be in the position where we would lose our house. As luck would have it our landlord bought the house we live in in not brilliant condition and we have slowly done it up. although its not perfect. The money from Provident paid for this. As well as a loan from my mum and dad.

    Hi Becks,

When you put together your income and expenditure detail everything you spend your money on including food, car tax, insurance, clothes etc. The reason for this is the amount you have left after paying your priorities is the amount to go to your creditors as a monthly payment.

If you need any help completing a detailed income and expenditure CCCS have a free online debt advice system called Debt Remedy – once you have inputted your income and expenditure the system will let you know exactly where you stand and the best way forward. This link will take you directly to Debt Remedy and it only takes a few minutes to complete.

Thanks for tis but i don't feel there is any need to do this. as i am managing the payments. Just living off thin air if you like. lol.

I have arrangments with both the council tax and the water who are the only people who i owe money to.

I haven't defaulted on any others. Just paying only the minimum on my cc.

I know most people would say snowball but if you need to free up a bit of cash to have "extra" then I would start chipping away at the smaller debts.

If you could got rid of your card then that £15 could go as over payment on your next debt etc etc

Looking again at your in/out, you need to get rid of the providant loan, 175% apr? Geez louise! If you join ciao and earn money doing surveys, plus cashback for daily clicks, you could throw spare money at that and overpay on it. Assuming there isn't any overpayment/early settlement fee.

  • Hi Becks,
I have two children age 10 & 8 always asking for things!! Recently we got them to choose things of theirs they wanted to sell on ebay, to fund the new items. It has proved to be a great success as they like checking their items and are selling on stuff they are no longer interested in. Plus it doesn,t feel like you sre saying No all of the time. Just an idea!
