Have got masses of stuff down with the intentions of doing a car boot, totally overwhelmed by the amount of toys we have. Just taken four large black bags full of clothes to the salvation army. Had really wanted to send them to Rumania but was unable to find anywhere that takes them.
I am in Northampton.
They are the plastic toddler ones by the way.
That's so thoughtful, thank you.
Unfortunately I live in Sheffield, (well, not unfortunately, it's very nice here!)
I hope you manage to give them to someone else. Or Ebay?Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
Thanks to everybody who posted suggestions.
I'm afraid IKEA is a bit of a non-starter for me as it's a motorway drive away and I'm a chicken-livered new driver, so can't do! Yet.
But car boot is a fab idea!Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
try wilkinsons if you have one near, I'm sure the tables are onlt a couple of quid and the chairs a bit cheaper.

No problem, do you know the other day my husband bought down box upon box upn box of kids toys, these are all toys in pristine condition (broken ones are chucked). I have said that I was going to do a car boot but I just can't face it. My friend said get a skip and chuck them but I can't bear it because they are as new, I have put a couple on Ebay, Little Tikes Drum, School Bus, Fisher Price Xylophone (Crocodile) and Drilling Bob (Bob the Builder).
I have the massive Little Tikes transporter that sells for about £20 on ebay (it was only £28 new but you cannot get them any more). I have the really large Little Tikes Dolls House with all the miniature tikes stuff. Little Tikes work bench (just need to locate the phone for that, probably still in the loft, there is more up there). Little Tikes large Tipper with Hard Hat. I could go on for pages.
The clothes I desperately wanted to send to Rumania or somewhere but couldn't find any info. Ended up putting four large black bin liners worth in the Oxfam thingy at Tesco.
I have got boxes and boxes of jigsaws that look like new, I even have some toys that haven't even had the sellotape split.
I know I should car boot or Ebay but the thought of having to pack up everything and post it freaks me. Tomorrow I go off for my Choc launch and I will be back Saturday and then pretty much my 90 hour weeks start in the run up to Xmas.
I have been trying to find info on a womens refuge because I usually send any leftover bits to them at the end of the choc season. I think they all take clothes and toys.
I would like to send them somewhere that needs them trouble is I need a van to pick it all up.
Any suggestions, or do you just think I am being bone idle.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

rustyjames wrote:How about IKEA? They have a wooden table and chair set at £12.49 or plastic chairs starting at £2.49. We got the wooden ones a few years back, painted them, and they have been in constant use ever since.

What about an NCT nearly new sale. They do two types, a table top, which means you need to do something like an indoor bootfair, and the other type is a bit of a bring and buy. You leave your sack loads of stuff mid morning with the volunteers, they put everything out to sell and what doesn't sell comes back to you and what does they take a 30% stake and give the rest to you.
Check out ones in your area:

Have you thought about your local toy library? It depends on whether you want to sell them or not, but if you don't the library will take them.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0
