i have checked the memory with a another pc and it works with no problems, the moniter does come on and works with no problems as i have tried it with another computer,
when turning the pc on theres no signal going to the moniter and the moniter does not display anything, usally there a been sound comming from the pc when turning it on and the moniter comes on after the beep sounding, but theres no beep sound.
can someone give me advise of what the problem is and how i can fix it???

unplug your monitor the video card and make sure hey are no bent pins.
check what colour the monitor is dislaying ie is it green or orange ?
Plug it back in and strat the pc up, do you get any display at all.?
If you get the black & white dos screen it could be set for a mode that your video card cant use.
Best thing to do is try and boot it up in safe mode (press the F8 key when booting and you should get a menu) - and then change the refresh ratePayneardo0 -
The best place to post this would really be Techie Questions & Discussion however I'd like to know how you can read your posts without the Monitor onMy weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

This happened to me once and I was flumuxed, so I just switched off waited a minute or so and tried again and fortunately it came on, and has never happened again.
But I also agree with payneardo's idea if the other didn't work, is it an old monitor ??? if not how many times has it happened ???
Good Luck anyway.0 -
I had this ages ago - I looked at the monitor cable that plugs into the PC (or maybe the port it plugs into) and noticed a pin was missing (or shorter than the others).
I clipped a stable in half and pushed it into the corrrespondong hole, plugged in the monitor and it starting working again!0 -
you have probably inserted the cable the wrong way around at one time. some sockets will allow the cable to be pushed into them incorrectly. use a pair of eye tweezers to tease the pin out if possible.

Have you tried it with another monitor? If that works, it looks like your monitor had seen better days.0

This same thing happened to me a month ago unfortunately it turned out the monitor had just given up the ghost I was lucky enough a friend had a spare after having just bought himself a swanky new tft 17", I hope you get it sorted without having a huge payout :-/0
