HI
Our mortgage is up for renewal end of July this year & from posting yesterday looks like I need to start looking for a new deal now.
I have been looking at halifax (who were with now) & they have a
5 yr fixed rate @ 5.99% product fee £699
or
3yr fixed rate @ 5.99 product fee £699
Im going to make an appointment to see a mortgage advisor @ the halifax but after reading 'mortgages & houses' on here im unsure whether to go with a bank... our current mortgage runs repayment over 40 yrs... not sure how many lenders lend over that long term but the repayment doesnt vary much between 30/40 yrs.
I dont want to do 2yr fixed as that's flown but dont know whether to do the 5yr one as we will be starting a family around then.... awww decisions decisions!!!

I'm looking to get a remortgage done with HSBC, 5.39% 5 year fixed for £999 - see bottom of the page here
Looking at the Halifax 5 year fixed deals, you are better off being a new customer who can get 5.89% for £699, the £100 extra in fees is easily saved by paying less interest.0 -
Interesting.... do hsbc do mortgages over 40yrs? - cant find the information on their site..0
