Hi all,
I need a bit of help. I am trying to find some easy to make picknick recipes.
We are having a birthday picknick for a 3 y old in July, where only family is turning up. Unfortunately, brother in laws kids are fussy eaters (they are 3 1/2 and 6 years old). Also, brother in law is vegetarian.
Any input would be welcomed!
Thanks Egon

You said vegetarian rather than vegan so, how about HM quiche (I like leeks / mushrooms .. but broccoli works too
).
HM pizza cut into small segments, served cold always goes down well with kids (and adults too).
Carrot sticks / celery sticks / peppers with houmous.
Cheese straws
Cheese / pineapple on sticks
Cherry tomatoes ... my DD and her friends pop these like sweeties
Sorry, lacking inspiration, but I'm sure others will come by with ace suggestionsGC - March 2024 -0 -
how about:
carrot sticks/ cucumber sticks/ bread sticks and dips
green salad/ cherry tomatoes/ coleslaw
sandwiches/ filled rolls/ filled pittas
cheese & crackers/ cheese & pineapple on sticks/ cheese straws
savoury muffins/ cheese flapjacks/ quiche
potato salad/ pasta salad/ cous cous salad
gingerbread men/ fairy cakes/ Twink's hobnobs
fresh fruit/ fruit salad/ pots of jelly
for the non vegetarians you could do stuff like:
cooked sausages/ chicken drumsticks/ sliced meat
scotch eggs/ chicken parcels/ tuna puffs/ Cornish pasties

Thanks ZED42 and Nikki,
Half the stuff you have said, the kids wont eat!!!! (Mine do though)
I am thinking, maybe they just have to live with what I make!?!I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -
How about asking Bil to bring something for his fussy kids to eat:rolleyes: If i was going somewhere with my little one i would expect her to eat what was given to her, and i wouldnt expect the host to cater to her whims
Sorry i havent given you any constructive recipes etc, the above posters have covered pretty much all the bases i think:DThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
