Thanks. Probably because I've been contemplating it for so long but just waiting for the right time. I got 2 sets of court papers from creditors so I couldn't put it off any longer. I would probably have had an early discharge by now it I did it when I first planned but hey I start my debt free life now!

You got there in the end.... that's the main thing :D

    Here's  to life debt-free :)

Thanks BLTN. I started a new job 8 weeks ago and everyone can see my computer screen so its difficult to go onto this site at work. I used to be self employed so could come on here at any time.

I know that feeling (everyone seeing my screen)... have told some of them its a stop smoking support site that is really helping ;)

(not strictly speaking a lie as i do use the stop smoking thread in dfw)

I just got a bill for my business rates for this new year so I'll be sending it back and telling them I haven't traded since November and vacated the building at that time. I also have the leftover bill from last year. My business was limited and I was the only director. Should I send them proof of my BR? Do I have to pay this? I really don't want bailiffs pitching up at the door taking my things away - I have such nosey neighbours!

    Hi,

You are no longer responsible for the debt. Yes it would be a good idea to send proof of you BR to the council. If they try to persue anything then tell the OR.

Hi fyp - it's turning out to be quite an exclusive 'club'. Do you think we could put the letters BRCJ after our names?
