Free chocolate...? or maybe dog food!

Options
I've just had an invitation to join the Mars testing panel so no idea what I might end up with to test (although I'm pretty sure I received this after signing up to dog-related stuff previously...), but I've signed up so we shall see...

Here's the info / link if anyone else is interested:

We would now like to invite you to test our products and let us know your opinion on them. Simply register to our Mars® Panel. Afterwards we would invite you to our product tests and surveys by sending you an e-mail and asking you to fill in an online questionnaire. To thank you for your participation in our individual surveys, we usually either send you the test product or a gift voucher.

If you like to become a member of the Mars® Panel, please sign up using the following link below:

http://www.mars-panel.com/?rc=NDE=

Of course your participation in our product tests and surveys is anonymous and voluntary. You have the possibility to decide whether you like to participate for each survey individually. If you do not participate, you will be invited again to one of our next surveys. Moreover, it is of course possible to register to the Mars® Panel or to unsubscribe free of charges anytime.

This site is from Masterfoods and I've found this review about it on the web.

"Not the greatest panel to be on. You do get products to test but not very often at all.
I have been a member for a few years and have only received a couple of vouchers for products, one of which was some cat food (tasted awful ;- ) ) but to be fair you did get a whole pack of pouches for the cat for free and the type I got are usually pretty pricey. The questions you are asked are quite funny though, something along the lines of 'how do you think your cat felt about the product?' and 'were there enough chunks/gravy in the product'. I did try asking my cat but had no response.....
Their website is not up to much; considering that they are such a big company they could afford to make a better one. The 'personal panel area' is very basic with limited information on it, and even though I know little about creating a website I could have designed a better one myself!
I also had a problem with their 'Master Data Survey' which is the basic survey you fill in when you first register, where you put info about what you eat and what pets you have. On one page I stated that I had ONE dog, then on the following page it said "As you have "'more than two dogs"', please just fill in the data for the youngest two dogs." And then it only asks for info on one dog anyway!
All I can say is that there is no harm in registering with them, as there is always the chance that you will get to test a product for free, but don't expect many vouchers through the post anytime soon! "

    It might worth a try.

I agree with the comments on the website - it was so bad I had to google to check it was the real one!

I've been with them for just over a year. I've tested 3 products (chocolate). They usually send me a voucher in the post that I use to purchase the product. Then a week or so later they email me a link so I can do the survey.
The voucher is usually 1-2 pounds worth so I have always been able to buy more than just the one sample of the product.
I never had any problems with the website it self but I agree with the review luckyjasond posted, that it is very basic.
