Hi, I am a vegetarian and I have an 11 month old daughter who eats meat.
I tend to plan meals when DH is around but he is in RAF so goes away for 6 weeks out of every 12 and when he's away my organizational skills go out of the window, i tend to eat rubbish myself I've even started giving DD jars of baby food now which I never would have dreamed of before!
Now DD isn't having purees etc any more i feel we should be eating together and eating similar sort of thing, eg a quorn version and a meaty version, doesnt take much extra effort cos I'm used to having 2 seperate pans on the go. Just need a big list of meal ideas to make my plan from!
So, here's the list I have started, please please give me some extra ideas to add to it!:
Lunches:
Eggy Bread
Jacket Potato with cheese/beans/tuna for dd
Cold Pasta with Tomato Sauce
Teatime:
Pasta Bolognese (Quorn/Meat)
Toad in The Hole (Quorn/Meat)
As you can see I am not very imaginitive!
HELP!!!

Hi there
Is there a special reason why your DD has to have meat when there's just the two of you? I'm a meat eater myself but I know small people can grow up very healthy indeed on vegetarian food. Personally I would give her veggie food when there's just the two of you and she can have meaty meals when your OH is there.
I have a great cookery book by Rose Elliott called 'Cheap and Easy' (I'm sure there's a joke there...) with fantastic cheap veggie food which is very kid-friendly. Potato hotpot - fantastic. You might be able to get it from the library.

rose elliot's mother and baby book is good too.
I'd save myself unnecessary hassle and get the little one used to eating the same as me. When DH is back she can either have what you're having or what he's having...
but then my husband eats meat and we eat veggie all together almost all the time as he's not that bothered about it. What about chopping up a small amount of chicken or sausage or something to put into whatever you're cooking so it's one dish with a bit extra for the meat eaters? eg pasta with veg and tomato sauce with a bit of spicy sausage or pizza with a small one for the baby with meat on it?May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
I agree, the little one can eat the same as you. My 3 year old ds refuses to eat meat, but is happy with quorn anything. His dad is a big meat eater and I'm not.
Scrambled egg with toast fingers.
Vegetable mash (mine cheerfully states he doesn't eat broccolli but never seems to notice when his mashed potatoes are green)
Stew - quorn mince, any veg you can find and pototoes. DD's can be mashed, yours can stay as it is.
Home made pizza - ours is basically cheese on toast with a bit of tomato puree on it for ds's lunch. He just thinks it's pizza.0
