Hiya,
Please can some Boots Experts give me some advice?
I have had a Boots card for a while, but only a small Boots near me, and I don't go in there that often.
I tried to redeem points on Saturday, but the checkout chappie told me that: I have to use all my points on one item, I can't use them towards a more expensive item and pay the difference, and that I can't use them on anything which is already on offer or discounted, or part of any other offer.....
Is this true?
If I do build up loads of points can I buy several smaller items with them?
I'm a bit confused!
Thanks!

Yeah you have to pay fully with your points. But you can use them on discoutned items. Hope that helped a little xStudent MoneySaving Club member 017!0

yes you can buy several little things you don't have to spend all the points on one thing, as long as you have got another points to cover the cost of the item as they won't let you pay the difference with money.
and when you pay with points you won't receive points with that purchase.
to build up your points go to the advantage card machine, located in most boots stores, and look through the different offers on there as they usely have coupons you can print off for extra points on a purchase and different things like that.0 -
Sorry to jump in but this is another related question-
I had a voucher (from the back of the boots magazine) for 100 extra points if I bought three sanctuary products. Found sachets of face mask/scrub for £1 each and bought them, and although they gave me the bonus points I noticed later that they didn't give me the 16 points for my original £3 spend. Is that normal? Cos I thought if so the 100 bonus points were actually only 84 bonus points!
You're right to think this is a nerdy question, long live king Eugene!!

Thanks for the explanations.
Unfortunately my little local Boots is too small to have a voucher machine, and I don't travel into the main town very often.
One advantage though - a friendly sales chappie in 'my' Boots last week said they get all the end-of-line bits & bobs from other stores in the area, to reduce & sell there. He said this is Boots policy - that they pick a smaller store in each area as a kind if 'clearance zone'.
I must definitley make a point of popping in there more often! The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

Hi Louisa.
I had the same thing happen to me when i had a '300 bonus points' voucher for something i bought in boots but didnt get any of the normal points. When i asked, the departmental manager said this was normal as they had already given me 300 points for the item and the 'normal' points arent given. Very misleading calling them 'bonus' points :rolleyes:0 -
if the voucher specifies extra points you also get any points on top for your original spend. if it only says get 100 points when you buy whatever you are buying then you only get the 100 points, nothing extra. hope this makes senseYour greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others.
